LAHORE: 07 August:Government College University (GCU) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khaleequr Rahman has increased 130 seats for admissions to the intermediate (first year) due to an immense increase in number of applicants this year.
The university, after increasing the seats, also displayed its first merit list for admissions to the first year. The merit for admissions to pre-engineering was closed at 971 marks, pre-medical 971 marks, Intermediate in Computer Science (ICS) 930 marks, General Science 850 marks, Intermediate in Commerce (I.Com) 870 marks while minimum merit for admission to intermediate in Arts was 830 marks.
GCU Registrar Anjum Nisar said that the second merit list would be displayed on August 13, but it would be subjected to the availability of seats.
Meanwhile, the GCU Directorate of Sports postponed the cricket trials due to heavy rain in the City. Now, the trails would be held at Punjab University Old Campus Ground at 8am on August 13. The GCU has also changed the venue for athletic trials, which would now be held on today (Tuesday) at GCU Oval Ground.Nation.
