LAHORE:28 July: The fate of a Rs 4487.455 million Punjab accelerated functional literacy and non-formal basic education project will be decided at a meeting on Saturday.
The Punjab government wants to launch the new project to increase the literacy rate in the province and the meeting would finalize its modalities, a senior official told APP on Friday.
The meeting will also discuss widening and improvement of a 54 kilometer part of the Pattoki-Kanganpur road in district Kasur at Rs 1082.117 million.
The project includes ongoing schemes in the provincial annual development programme for year 2012-13. A Rs 497 million project of widening and improvement of 30.50 km Kallar Kahar to Choa Saiden Shah road in district Chakwal and Rs 267.723 million project for widening, improvement and raising of 27 km long Gojra to Mureedwala road in district TT Singh will also be discussed.
A Rs 1376 million project for development and construction of a bus bay on southern side and some other projects like PMU of Punjab resource management programme having an estimated cost of Rs 286.8 million and setting up of a public private partnership cell at Rs 312.7 million will also be discussed in the meeting Chairman Planning and Development Board Javaid Aslam will chair the meeting while secretaries of departments of finance, communication & works, planning & development, Literacy & NFBE, transport, HUD&PHE and environment protection and a number of other senior functionaries and heads of projects will attend.APP.
