LAHORE:January 20:UNIVERSITY of Education organised a seminar for rights and protection of disabled persons on Thursday. According to a press statement, the seminar was held in collaboration with the department of special Education and an NGO.
Dr Shaheen Pasha, assistant professor of Division of Education, presided over the event. Renowned orthopaedic surgeon Dr Khalid Jamil said that due to stress in society and unavailability of basic facilities, revolutionary steps would have to be taken to make disabled persons practical and functional in society.
Dr Shaheen Pasha said that basic purpose of this seminar was to encourage the disabled and enabled them to enter the mainstream life in society. She said that students should encourage such kinds of persons. Students of Special Education Department also displayed illustrations and models regarding this seminar.The news.
