American Educationist visits LCWU

Lahore: 02 March: Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) Lahore has announced that “Purpose of education should not be for deposit of knowledge rather we must adopt the approach of education for social justice,” said Dr. Roberta Ahlquist in a seminar while addressing faculty and students of LCWU here in IT seminar room.
This seminar was arranged by Women Institute of Leadership and Learning of varsity.
Dr. Sabiha Mansoor, Vice Chancellor of LCWU, was also present on the occasion. She thanked Dr. Roberta Ahlquist for sharing her valuables views with the faculty members and students.
Ms. Samina Sundas, an American Pakistani, who works for American Muslim Voice, said that a good education system could really uplift the masses.
Dr. Roberta Ahlquist, is a professor in the department of Education, San Jose University, USA. She is working on education system of different countries. She discussed system of education in USA.
She opined that education system in US does not comprise equality and equity. While quoting example of USA she said that one out of four children in California lived in poverty, social justice taught to work for providing social justice through education.Faculty members and students asked several questions regarding education system of USA.
