University of Management signs research deal with Japanese company

LAHORE:20 august: The University of Management and Technology (UMT) and the Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS) - a Japanese company - Saturday inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for mutual collaboration, faculty and students' exposure, students' fellowship, internship and volunteer exchange programmes. The MOU ceremony was held at UMT campus Johar Town where UMT Director General Abid Shirwani and the AOTS Chairman Syed Nabeel Hashmi signed the deal. Speaking on the occasion, UMT Director Abid Shirwani said that both organisations would promote joint research publication activities aimed at the advancement of human resource, industrial relations and development through scholarship, research proposal grants and paper submission opportunities in Japan and abroad. He said that the university was offering maximum exposure to its students as well as faculty to get benefits of linkages with international organisations. AOTS Pakistan Chairman Syed Nabeel Hashmi said that the agreement would support the UMT in designing and implementing student's projects regarding globalisation of industries, human resource and trade, as well as encouraging investment and international economic cooperation.Published in Daily Times, August 20th 2017.
