SSC results: Military school students top Pindi board exams

Rawalpindi:July 21:The Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (RBISE) announced on Tuesday the names of students that topped the annual Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams. The full result will be issued today.

More boys placed in the top positions that girls, but girls outnumbered the boys in terms of the total number of students passing the exams.

Saqib Javaid, from Cadet College Choha Saidan Shah Chakwal took first position with 1,070 marks out of a possible 1100. Just one mark behind were Seemabia Sahar from Fauji Foundation Girls High School Jand, Attock and Muhammad Sameed from Cadet College Hassanabadal, Attock.

As far as third postion is concerned, two students got 1028 marks. The position was shared by Mohammad Abubakr from Siddeeq Public School, Sixth Road Satellite Town, Rawalpindi and by Zain Ali from Cadet College Hassanabdal.

As many as 123,359 students sat the SSC examination for 2016 — 67,417 boys and 55,942 girls. In total, 87,024 students passed. The number of passing male students stood 44,734, and 42,290 female candidates were successful. The pass rate was 71.35 per cent. The success rates among boys and girls were 67.13 per cent and 76.49 per cent respectively.

The total number of regular students appearing in the exams was 87,113, while 36,246 private students also sat the papers.

The examining body caught nine cases of unfair means, all if which involved male students.

The board also announced that Quratulain from Radiant Public School, Rawalpindi got third position in the science group with 1,063 marks. They highlighted that she has a physical handicap relating to her spine.Published in The Express Tribune, July 20th, 2016.
