Lahore:April 13:A 14-year-old student of Grade 7 allegedly committed suicide reportedly after scoring low marks in his annual exams than were expected of him by his guardians. According to Shah Faisal Colony SHO Haji Ishaq, they received a report about the incident in Kohati Mohalla on Thursday morning and found the teenager, Muhammad Sheeraz, dead when they arrived. Ishaq said that Shahdad, who was Sheeraz’s adoptive father, told police that he had promised to gift the boy whatever he demanded if he passed his annual exams with flying colours. However, when the result was announced two days ago, Sheeraz scored less than what was expected of him. Shahdad said the teenager was disheartened by the result, and that when the family went to his room on Thursday morning, they found him hanging from the ceiling fan. The SHO said that Sheeraz’s body was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem. He further said Sheeraz’s biological father, Noor Muhammad, did not want to take legal action against Shahdad and his wife.The news.
