Rs3.81 billion approved as UVAS annual budget

LAHORE: August 11:Syndicate members lauded the role of UVAS for providing quality of education in the country and various food products prepared by students to promote safe and healthy food. Earlier, UVAS Vice Chancellor Dr Pasha along with Dean Faculty of Veterinary Sciences Prof Dr Masood Rabbani and Director Quality Enhancement Cell Dr Hafsa Zainab visited UVAS sub-campus, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences CVAS, Jhang. On the occasion, the VC inaugurated a state-of-the art epidemiology laboratory at CVAS Jhang. He appreciated the active role of Principle CVAS Jhang Prof Dr Muhammad Younus Rana and Associate Professor Dr Iahtesham Khan on the establishment of epidemiology lab to improve the diagnostic facilities especially for the identification of brucellosis disease. For all to see: UVAS to build livestock technology park The lab was established through Dr Iahtesham Khan competitive research project title “Brucellosis in Pakistan” funded by the Federal German Foreign Office. The brucellosis is highly infectious disease transfers from animals to humans mainly through unpasteurized milk and their products. This disease causes abortion in animals and humans in last trimester of pregnancy. Earlier, a detailed meeting held with CVAS faculty members and VC Dr Pasha presided over the meeting and stressed the need of their active role in improving the quality of education at CVAS, Jhang.Express turbune.
