Rawalpindi:25 July: The Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) on Thursday announced the results of the annual matriculation examinations on Thursday, where girls outshone boys by clinching the top three positions overall.
According to the position holders announced by Rawalpindi BISE, Nimra Mumtaz of Munir Public Girls High School scored the first position in the board, scoring 1,067 marks out of a total 1,100. She was followed by Atteqa Hashmi of Siddeeq Public School Rawalpindi, who bagged 1,057 marks. Yusra Bint-i-Hafeez of Divisional Public School Shamsabad managed third place by obtaining 1,054 marks.
All three students belong to the science group.
Among the boys, Muhammad Burhan Rashid of Military College Jehlum, Sarai Alamgir, attained the top place by scoring 1,051 marks. Waqar Ahmed of Cadet College Choa Saidan Shah was second with 1,043 marks and Muhammad Mudasir Shafiq of Syed Syed Public School Chaklala Rawalpindi was third with 1,042 marks.
The girls outsmarted the boys in the general group as well. Sana Shakeel of Grammar Public High School for Girls Rawalpindi stood first with 977 marks, followed by Shafaq Noor of the same school with 976 marks. Sana Rasheed attained the third place in the general group by scoring 969 marks.
Haroon Azam Noshani of Jamia Qadira Warsia Maria Shamsa Po Daryala Saygon Gurjar Khan got the first position among the boys in the general group by attaining 930 marks. He was followed by Muhammad Mubarik of Government High School Sagri Jhelum with 912 marks and Hamza Nadeem of Government Tablighul Islam School Jhelum with 904 marks.
A spokesman for BISE Rawalpindi said that students can also check their results by sending a short message (SMS) at 800296 on Friday.
