LAHORE:April 18: Punjab University (PU) Hailey College of Banking & Finance (HCBF) organised a dinner to greet the newly enrolled students of MBA (evening programme). Pnjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Zakria Zakar, HCBF Principal Prof Dr Mubashir Munawar Khan, faculty members and students were present on the occasion. Dr Zakria said academic excellence could be achieved through enhanced research activities. He highlighted the potential of research in the fields of business, banking, insurance and risk management. He hoped inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary research might pave the way for the development of new strategies for risk management. Dr Mubashir advised the students to utilise available resources for enhancing their learning and keeping themselves abreast of latest developments. He highlighted the success of on-campus recruitment drives undertaken with the support of leading banks, financial institutions and insurance companies. Bashir Ahmad Buksh advised the students to develop entrepreneurial skills in order to enter in trade and business. The students of the outgoing batch also shared their experiences with the newly admitted students. Meanwhile, PU Institute of Agricultural Sciences Director Professor Dr Muhammad Saleem Haider and National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council Secretary Naseer Alam Khan called upon PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Zakria Zakar on Tuesday.
