PTU appealed to chief justice to stop sale of plots for schools

LAHORE:May 7: Punjab Teachers Union (PTU) has appealed to the chief justice of Pakistan to stop Lahore Development Authority (LDA) from auctioning the plots designated in housing societies for the establishment of schools and hospitals. In a press release, PTU Central General Secretary Rana Liaquat Ali said auctioning such plots was violation of human rights. Rana Liaqat said investors bought such plots and used them for commercial purposes while people were deprived of free education and medical facilities in the respective area. He appealed to the CJP to take notice of sale of such plots so that they were handed over to the government for construction of schools and hospitals.The news.
