Professors reject Pay and Pension report

Islamabad:Punjab Professors and Lecturers Association (PPLA) Rawalpindi Division has rejected the report of Pay and Pension Committee.

President PPLA Mohammad Ilyas Qureshi and General Secretary Rauf Ahmad Shah demanded that college teachers should be considered as government servants.

They said that college teachers were enjoying the status of government servants. They must not be treated as separate entity on the directive of World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF). They said, “They have informed Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani as well as Chairman Pay and Pension Committee about their reservations in writing.” The college teachers can give a protest call in case they are deprived of their rights, they said. The news
