LAHORE:20 April:Hearing a petition for transfer of trial proceedings against an alleged facilitator of Peshawar Army Public School carnage, the Lahore High Court on Wednesday directed the counsel of the suspect to submit his affidavit about ‘inappropriate’ remarks of the trial judge.
Earlier, the counsel for suspect Saleemullah argued before the court that the judge of an anti-terrorism court called the suspect a terrorist during the trial proceedings. Whereas, he said, nobody could be termed guilty unless convicted by a court.
The lawyer argued that the trial judge by doing so showed his mind towards the case, therefore, it would not be appropriate for him to continue with the proceedings. He prayed to the court to transfer the trial proceedings to some other anti-terrorism court.
The chief justice adjourned the hearing for 10 days and directed the counsel to file his affidavit about the remarks of the trial judge. The news.
