Lahore:July 18:More than 41,000 candidates appeared in the combined entrance test for admission in engineering institutions of Punjab for BSc Engineering and BS Technology on Sunday.
The test was conducted by the UET Lahore simultaneously at 13 centres across the province. At the centre set up at UET Lahore 12,723 candidates appeared in the test, 5019 at Islamabad, 6,000 at Multan, 4228 at Faisalabad, 2834at Kala Shah Kaku, 1763 at Bahawalpur, 1,055 at Rahim Yar Khan, 1,642 at Sahiwal, 660 at Mianwali, 2266 at Gujrat, 2735 at Taxila and 359 at Rasul. UET Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid visited different centres. While briefing the media about the test he said all possible steps were taken to ensure the transparency in the test. The VC said UET was making efforts to upgrade the curricula as per the needs of the national and international market and also making strong relations with industry.
