LAHORE:May 19: Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) Chairman Prof Dr Nizamuddin has said that PHEC is making efforts to ensure market-based education and skills to youth. He said this while addressing Rotary Youth Leadership Award organised by Rotary Club of Lahore Canal at Punjab University (PU) Pervez Hasan Environmental Law Auditorium here on Thursday. The ceremony was presided over by President Rotary Club of Lahore Canal Syed Shahbaz Bukhari. District Governor Rotary International Mir Arif Ali, District Governor Elect Faiza Qamar, past district governors, including Sajid Pervaiz Bhatti, Saeed Shamsi, renowned Rotarians, delegates from foreign countries and a large number of talented youths from different segments of society were present on the occasion. Dr Nizamuddin said students should focus on finding opportunities to create jobs through entrepreneurship rather than becoming job seekers. He said new ideas of students would be marketed and the culture of entrepreneurship would be promoted in this regard. He said incubation centres must be set up to market ideas of students. He said Pakistan was the 6th largest country of the world and major strata of the population belonged to students so we must equip our students with skills along with degrees. He said we had high hopes from our youths and country’s future depended on them. Syed Shahbaz Bukhari said the purpose of Rotary Youth Leadership Award was to appreciate our youths who had shown outstanding performance in various fields.The news.
