LUMS Students combat shortfall with energy-efficient solutions

LAHORE:May 16:A team at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) is working to bring energy efficient, environment friendly solutions to Pakistan, which can potentially help alleviate the energy crisis in the country. The forward-looking project called the Energy and Power Systems Cluster is based at the LUMS Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering and headed by Electrical Engineering Department Associate Professor Nauman Ahmad Zaffar, who is also the Director of project. A team of students, working under Zaffar’s mentorship, participated in the Shell Eco Marathon Asia. The seven students from LUMS showcased an electric vehicle at the competition held in Singapore between March 16 and 19, 2017. A total of 10 teams from Pakistan participated in the event.The Express Tribune.
