Knowledge Management Centre in Lahore University

LAHORE:25 June: Punjab Planning & Development Department Chairman Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan on Friday inaugurated the Knowledge Management Centre at the P&D Complex inside the Punjab Civil Secretariat.

The purpose for this knowledge centre was to encourage and facilitate all the employees and it would not only be restricted to the employees but in fact it could be used by the university students for their research projects. The chairman congratulated the P&D team for this great initiative and also thanked heads of the allied departments in extending their support to make this happen.

He said that this great library revamped by the P&D would enlighten future generations. This knowledge centre has been revamped with the support from the experts of the Urban Unit and Punjab Information Technology Board. At the inaugural ceremony, P&D Urban Unit Chief Executive Officer Nasir Javed and PITB E-Governance Director General Sajid Latif gave a briefing to the P&D Staff about the upgradation of the Knowledge Management Centre by both the departments and also informed about the usage of the E-Library.

This step by the Planning & Development would have positive results for all the government departments and helped in analysing projects. The Knowledge Management Centre is an interactive and user friendly e-resource for the consumption of the development professionals, researchers and academia and the public policy practitioners.

The centre houses a wide array of latest book collection on multiple disciplines, an assembly of authentic web-linked research journals, online and digital library sources, managed electronic drafts of documents, systematic collection of development projects proposals, IT-based circulations new reference and research services through managed shelving, efficient retrieval facility and other knowledge sharing tools and techniques.Daily Times.
