Govt forms committee to regulate school fee increase

Lahore:05 April:On the directives of the Sindh High Court (SHC), the provincial government has formed a 12-member committee to regulate any increase in private schools’ tuition fees. On March 5, the SHC, while disposing of petitions filed by parents of children studying in private schools against the managements for increasing fees by more than five per cent in violation of the rules and regulations, had directed the government to form rules for increasing fees within 90 days. The school education and literacy department constituted a 12-member committee, which is led by Dr Mansoob Hussain Siddiqui, and includes as members Ihsanullah Laghrai, Rafia Jawed, Dr Fauzia Khan, Jameel Yousif, Amina Saiyed, Dr Akbar Yasdani, Asim Yaqoob, Uzma Mukhtar, Khalid Shah and Sharfuzzaman.
