Rawalpindi:16 March: FG Degree College for Women, Abid Majeed Road, Rawalpindi holds annual prize distribution ceremony every year to mark the accomplishments of the talented students, to encourage the spirit of healthy competition among them and to promote curricular and co-curricular activities. In keeping with the tradition, annual prize distribution ceremony was held here on Thursday, FG Degree College for Women, Abid Majeed Road, Rawalpindi. On this occasion befitting arrangements were made on the occasion. The chief guest on the occasion was Brigadier Dr. Muhammad Asif Iqbal, Director Federal Government Educational Institutions (Cantt/ Garrison). Lt. Col. Abdul Rashid Achakzai GSO-I Regional Office, Rawalpindi also graced the ceremony. The stage secretary Humaira Ishtiaq welcomed the chief guests and the other worthy guests, then followed the prize distribution ceremony. Prizes were awarded to students standing first, second and third in Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education. Students who had grabbed distinctions were Yumna Wani for achieving highest marks in HSSC Part-II in Pre-Medical group in FGEI (C/G) colleges 2017, Bushra Idrees and Taram Nayab for securing the highest marks in B.A. in the college in the University of the Punjab Exams 2017. Maryam Niaz Qureshi and Sidra Anjum had made the institution proud by winning the first place in Bilingual Urdu/English Declamation Competition on Regional Level and All Pakistan Level in FGEI (C/G) Dte, Competitions-2017. They had also won the Trophy for the college in the same event. Hafsa Mudassir and Iqra Imtiaz were declared best Qaria and Naat Khawan for winning prizes at regional and all Pakistan level. Ausha Aziz and Maryam Ameen for wining Second prize in Biology project science competition in FGEI (C/G) Dte. Many prizes were won in FDE competitions. First prize was won in arts competition, First in Bait Bazi, Second in Urdu Debate to mention a few. The chief guest Brig. Dr. Muhammad Asif Iqbal, Director FGEI (C/G) in his address stressed that success embrace those who strive for it.
