Equipment handed over to Vocational Training Authority

LAHORE:08 August: Japan has handed over latest machinery and equipment worth 100 million yen to Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) for upgrade of Government College of Technology Faisalabad. Tevta Chairman Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said this while addressing a meeting for review of projects between Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Tevta on Monday. Irfan Qaiser said GCT Faisalabad was being converted into a center of excellence with the collaboration with JICA and added in this regard JICA had provided latest and up to dated machinery and equipment for the upgrading labs of the college. He added JICA would also upgrade further 13 institutes of Tevta as per the collaboration. TEVTA chairman said the collaboration with JICA was not limited to upgrade as Japanese master trainers were also working to upgrade Tevta’s syllabi as per industry’s demands. “JICA’s cooperation in this regard is really commendable,” he added. Farewell: LDA Director General Zahid Akhtar Zaman hosted a farewell party in honour of retired Chief Town Planner, LDA, Waseem Ahmad Khan and Managing Director, Wasa, Ch Naseer Ahmad who attained the age of superannuation a few days ago. The party was participated by Additional Director Generals, LDA, Samia Saleem, Zeeshan Shabbir Rana and Khyzer Afzaal Ch, Chief Metropolitan Planner Waheed Ahmad Butt, Chief Town Planner Khalid Mehmood Sheikh, Chief Engineer, LDA, Asrar Saeed and besides all the directors in LDA.
