Boys bag top positions in Matric

Lahore:July 20:Boys outshined girls in the Secondary School Certificate (Matriculation) Annual Examinations 2016 as they bagged all three top positions.

All the three top achievers are from Divisional Public School and Inter College, Model Town.

It is pertinent to mention here that girls had bagged all top three positions in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Annual Examination 2015 and only third position was shared by three students, including a boy.

Lahore BISE Chairman Dr Muhammad Nasrullah Virk announced the names of position holders at a press conference at board office here on Tuesday. BISE Secretary Ms Rehana Ilyas, public relations officer Qaisar Virk and other officials were also present on the occasion.

The detailed result of SSC Annual Exam 2016 will be announced on Wednesday (today) while a prize distribution ceremony for the high achievers will also be held today and MNA Hamza Shahbaz is expected to be the chief guest on the occasion.

Rana Omer Farman (Roll No. 203528) grabbed the overall first position by obtaining 1087 marks. Muhammad Shayan Waheed (Roll No. 200360) clinched second position with 1086 marks while the third position was shared by Syed Momin Ali (Roll No. 200340) and Husnain Mushtaq (Roll No. 197645) with 1085 marks each. These students are the toppers in Science Group (among boys).

The toppers in Science Group (among girls) are Semil Saleem of Punjab Girls High School, Johar Town (first with 1083 marks), Ramisha Tahir of Divisional Public Girls Higher Secondary School, Model Town (second with 1082 marks) and Sajal Tariq of Jinnah Grammar Secondary School, Shad Bagh (third with 1079 marks).

The high achievers in Humanities Group (among boys) are Sabir Ali of Pakistan Model High School, Raiwind Road (first with 1034 marks), Muhammad Shahzad of Allied School for Boys, Shadman (second with 1006 marks) while the third position in this group was shared by Muhammad Usman of Allama Iqbal Public Boys High School, Raiwind Road, Kasur and Allah Ditta of Government Public Model High School, Nain Sukh as they both scored 994 marks each.

In Humanities Group (among girls), Iqra of Allama Iqbal Public High School for Girls, Raiwind Road bagged first position with 1067 marks. The second position was shared by Ayesha Khalid of Society Public Girls High School, Mughalpura and Areej Waseem of Farooqi Girls High School, Karim Park, Ravi Road with 1055 marks each. The third position was clinched by a private candidate from Lahore, Uzma Waris who secured 1045 marks.    

Meanwhile, the Punjab government has posted Associate Professor Nasir Jamil as Controller of Examinations of BISE Lahore replacing Azhar Munir who was on look after charge.The news.
