Rawalpindi:11 July: A Wall of Kindness (Deevar-e-Mehrbani) set up by a student in Lalazar area provided free of cost ration and clothes to some 200 families during the month of Ramazan with the help of donations given by the philanthropists.
Fahad Javaid, a student of Master of Business Administration and organizer of the Wall of Kindness, said he first started collecting donations from his family members then he approached his friends and finally his initiative got success due to overwhelming response from all these people.
Generally, the wall provides opportunity for those, who want to help others that they can hang clothes including shirts and shoes or they can also hang eatables in shopping bags, whereas the poor and needy people can take these hung things as per their need free of cost.
It is pertinent to mention here that various groups of students have set up Walls of Kindness in different areas of Rawalpindi including Satellite Town, Saddar and Transit Camp Chowk that provide clothes, shoes and food items to the needy people.
Fahad Javaid said they are getting overwhelming response by the people of their area and now the wall is not just providing clothes, but they are also distributing ration to the poor families.
He said now they are receiving donations from the foreign countries like England, France and Dubai because the Pakistani people living abroad have the passion to help their fellow countrymen with their financial resources.The news.
