LAHORE:18 December: A cake-cutting ceremony was held at Lahore College of Women University (LCWU) on Christmas eve here on Tuesday. LCWU Vice Chancellor Dr Bushra speaking on the occasion congratulated all the Christian community especially the Christian staff of the university. She added the Christian community had played a great role in the betterment of this institution and Pakistan. She later also cut the Christmas cake. The VC said the university was also coming up with a residential plan for its employees and added Christian staff would be provided accommodation on priority. On this occasion daughter of a former Christian staff was also given a cheque worth 1.9 million rupees as a financial benefit. Meanwhile, in connection with ongoing Christmas celebrations, Albayrak Waste Management arranged a special Christmas event at Dar-ul-Hikmat High School, Kamahan here on Tuesday. The representatives from Caritas Pakistan, sanitary workers, schoolchildren and teachers joined the cake cutting ceremony. Female Christian sanitary workers led prayers for peace, progress and prosperity in the country.
