686 degrees awarded at Kinnaird convocation

Lahore:01 March:The 82nd convocation of Kinnaird College for Women was held here on Thursday in which 686 degrees were awarded to the graduating students while 13 gold medals were also awarded to students for their academic achievement. Punjab Governor Ch Muhammad Sarwar was the chief guest while Chairman Board of Governors Rt Rev Dr Alexander John Malik, Bishop Emeritus of Lahore and Chairman of the Board, and the Association of Kinnaird College, members of the Board along with the faculty and parents of the graduating batch were also present. In his address, Ch Sarwar said no one could isolate Pakistan because of its effective policies under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said PM Narendra Modi’s war hysteria was for political mileage for elections in India. Kinnaird College’s Principal, Dr Rukhsana David, acknowledged the outgoing graduates for their outstanding results. The governor awarded degrees to 493 undergraduate students, 19 Masters and 174 MPhil students at the convocation. Thirteen 13 students were also awarded gold medals for academic achievement. He also announced Rs 100,000 prize for a student who secured three gold medals. Dr Alexander John Malik also spoke.
