Admissions to Punjab University will be on merit: VC

LAHORE:19 september: Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Moeen Nasir has said that the university will ensure that admissions in all disciplines are strictly on merit basis and maximum facilities will be provided to the candidates seeking admissions to the Punjab University. He was addressing the admission stalls inauguration ceremony at the New Campus on Monday. Admission Committee Chairman Prof Dr Taqi Zahid Butt, Stalls Committee Chairman Prof Dr Shahid Kamal, deans of various faculties, heads of departments, faculty members and students were present on the occasion. Speaking to the participants, Dr Zafar Moeen Nasir said that the PU was making rapid improvement in all spheres and next year the whole admission process would be digitalised and "we will receive applications from candidates online in order to facilitate them". He advised the teachers to pay maximum attention to character building of the students. He said that the PU administration was providing an environment that was promoting research, academic and healthy co-curricular activities in the university. Later, the VC visited various stalls and reviewed arrangements. The Punjab University has opened admissions to BSc (Hons) BS, BEd, BBIT, BFA, BCom, BBA, MA, MEd. MSc, MPA, MBA, MFA, MCom (3.5 year), MIM, MIOM and MBSM morning and self-supporting (afternoon/replica/evening) programmes for the academic year 2017-18.The last date for submission of form is September 28, 2017.
