Rs191m awarded to high-achievers and position holder students of the secondary school certificate and intermediate exam

LAHORE:19 April: An amount of Rs191 million was distributed among the position holder students of the secondary school certificate and intermediate examinations 2017 along with their teachers in a ceremony held at Awain-e-Iqbal on Wednesday. According to a handout issued here, 445 students who got top three positions in the secondary school certificate and intermediate examinations were awarded cash prizes worth Rs 4 lac, 3 lac and 2 lac, whereas, the teachers were awarded Rs 2 lac, Rs 1.5lac and Rs 1 lac, respectively.

PU Hailey College dinner to greet newly enrolled students of MBA

LAHORE:April 18: Punjab University (PU) Hailey College of Banking & Finance (HCBF) organised a dinner to greet the newly enrolled students of MBA (evening programme). Pnjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Zakria Zakar, HCBF Principal Prof Dr Mubashir Munawar Khan, faculty members and students were present on the occasion. Dr Zakria said academic excellence could be achieved through enhanced research activities.

Punjab University demanded reinstatement of teacher Dr Ammar Ali Jan

LAHORE:April 18: Students from Punjab University (PU) Institute of Social & Cultural Studies (ISCS) on Tuesday held a demonstration at New Campus and demanded reinstatement of their teacher Dr Ammar Ali Jan. Reportedly, the faculty member was fired by the PU administration a couple of days back for allegedly instigating the university students vis-à-vis recent political and social developments in the country.

Pakistan Dental Council officially announced schedule for NEB exam

LAHORE:April 17:The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has officially announced the schedule for NEB examination for the year 2018. The plan which was announced for the first time in the PM&DC history aimed at facilitating foreign graduates in order to save their precious time. The PM&DC NEB examination will be held under the supervision of National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS).

first vice-chancellors’ committee of Punjab

LAHORE:April 14: Vice-chancellors (VCs) of public universities of Punjab on Friday constituted the first vice-chancellors’ committee of Punjab. The committee besides deliberating upon individual matters of universities, would discuss issues related to financial, academic & administrative, quality enhancement, standardisation & internationalisation of higher education reforms and present the recommendations through Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) to the Punjab government.

Lahore govt schools show poor performance

LAHORE:13 April: The provincial capital of Punjab – Lahore – consistently scored in the middle and lower tier of the quarterly ranking of government schools. The ranking assesses different facilities, learning outcomes and ranks districts and divisions accordingly. The ranking is part of the Chief Minister’s School Reforms Roadmap which measures the performance of public schools in all 36 districts of the province. It is done on the basis of wide-ranging indicators. The latest ranking is for the third quarter of 2017-18 for the months of January, February and March of 2018.

SLS Montessori & High School marked World Water Day

Rawalpindi:13 April: Students of Sadeeqa’s Learning System (SLS) Montessori & High School, Satellite Town, Senior Branch marked World Water Day by holding a special program in this regard, says a press release. G.M Memon, resident director, Pak Oasis Pvt Ltd was invited as the chief guest. The program began with students welcoming the guest and the parents by performing on a welcome song. LAHORE:April 13: A seminar on Awareness of Drug Addiction among youths organised by Punjab University Institute of Applied Psychology. Syed Zulfiqar Hussain Consultant, Anti-Drug/Narcotics campaign was the guest speaker. Prof Dr Farah Malik, Director Applied Psychology presided the seminar and Prof Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan, Dean Faculty of Life Sciences was the chief guest.
