Punjab Education Foundation revamps web portal for students

Lahore:30 August:Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has improved Student Information System (SIS) on PEF website for online entry of students’ data by making it more user-friendly. The spokesperson for the PEF said the SIS website has been revamped for the convenience of school owners for entering information of students easily and the data may be extracted as when required for official use. The spokesperson said the SIS has improved the date of birth and admission process, while entry of CNIC of student’s mother will not be necessary optional.

Action initiated against heads of schools in Punjab

LAHORE:30 August: Chief executive officers (CEOs) of district education authorities (DEAs) have been instructed to take action against the heads of those schools which performed poorly in the annual Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability (PEEDA) Act. In this regard, a letter by the directorate of public instructions (secondary education) has been forwarded to the CEOs along with a list detailing schools which underperformed in their respective districts. The federal govt allocated Rs2.65 billion for the 23 new schools

LAHORE:30 August: After inquiries lasting two years, 94 heads of government-run schools in Punjab have been cleared of charges of inefficiency and misconduct. Inquiries against the heads of public schools had been ordered under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability Act (PEEDA) 2006 due to their alleged inefficiency and poor performance. The charges had been levelled against principals, in basic pay scales (BPS) 19 and 20, since December of 2016 and inquiries were being conducted against the teachers.

Punjab Minister Schools Education holistic reforms introduced in School Education

LAHORE:30 August: Punjab Minister for Schools Education Murad Raas has said that holistic reforms will be introduced in the School Education Department and every possible resource will be utilised to secure the future of the youth by providing them with quality education. Chairing a meeting of the chief executive officers of district education authorities of Lahore division at the committee room of Minister’s Block, here on Wednesday, he said the district heads should submit reports about their respective districts to him so that the matters pertaining to them could be timely solved.

Schoolteachers across Punjab demand resumption of transfers

Lahore:29 August:The statement also highlighted that the teachers performing duties as data entry operators, alongside the returning officers in the general elections and assistant returning officers, had also not been paid their dues. UTC demanded that the ECP also take notice of this delay and dues of data entry operators and assistant returning officers be paid as soon as possible. ITU announced third merit list for BS and MS admissions 2018

LAHORE:29 August: Information Technology University (ITU) has announced third merit list for BS and MS admissions 2018. A spokesperson for ITU said the list was available at the university’s website. He those who were included in the merit list could deposit their dues latest by today (29 August) till 5 p.m. The classes will be commenced from 03 September. Training: Punjab Healthcare Commission on Tuesday completed training of 19 dentists and 37 homoeopathic doctors on their respective Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS).

PU meeting with principals of affiliated colleges to improve quality of education

LAHORE:29 August: Punjab University (PU) administration on Tuesday organised a meeting with principals and representatives of affiliated colleges to improve quality of education. The meeting was organised at the university’s Faisal Auditorium in which Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) Director General Dr Shahid Soroya, deans of various faculties, administrative officers and principals/representatives of 618 colleges affiliated with Punjab University participated.

A delegation of PIEAS visited UMT and gave presentations in a seminar

LAHORE:August 29: A delegation from Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) headed by Dr Muhammad Aftab Rafiq visited University of Management and Technology (UMT) and gave presentations in a seminar on the upcoming 69th Lindau Nobel Laureate meeting scheduled on 30 June–5 July 2019, which is dedicated to the field of Physics and its related branches. According to a press release, the delegation was invited by Rector UMT Dr Muhammad Aslam who is a renowned nuclear scientist and the former rector of PIEAS.

LAHORE :19 August: The National Highways and Motorway Police inspector general has said that memoranda of understanding are being signed with renowned educational institutes for provision of special educational package to the children of NH&MP employees. NH&MP IG AamirZulfiqar Khan said this while addressing the “Merit Award Ceremony” at Alhamra, Lahore held in honour of the children of NH&MP employees who secured distinctions in the recent matriculation exams.

PU Prof Dr Rubeena Zakar visited King Edward Medical University

LAHORE :19 august: Punjab University (PU) Faculty of Health Sciences Acting Dean Prof Dr Rubeena Zakar visited King Edward Medical University (KEMU) and called on Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Gondal. LAHORE:18 August: University of Engineering & Technology (UET) has issued schedule for the year of 2018 for admissions in BSc Engineering and BSc Engineering Technology programmes in Lahore and its sub-campuses, including Kala Shah Kaku (UET-KSK) campus, Rachna College of Engineering & Technology (UET-RCET) Gujranwala, Faisalabad (UET-FSD) and Narowal (UET-NWL).
