Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre to plant trees ceremony held

Lahore:August 18:A ceremony was held at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) to plant trees as part of the Greener Pakistan Initiative to celebrate the 71st Independence Day of Pakistan, stated a press release issued on Friday. Speaking at the ceremony, National Forum of Environment and Health (NFEH) President Naeem Qureshi, informed the audience that the Greener Pakistan Initiative was launched to celebrate Independence Day in a befitting manner and led to the planting hundreds of plants and tree saplings in Karachi and Rawalpindi, the statement added.

University of the Punjab BA/BSc exams results on September 10.

Lahore:15 August: University of the Punjab will announce the results of BA/BSc annual examinations 2018 on September 10. A spokesman for the university said the exam results would be uploaded on the varsity's website i.e. www.pu.edu.pk the same day. The university will organise prize distribution ceremony for high-achievers of BA, BSc Part-II examinations at its Al-Raazi Hall on main campus in Lahore. PU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar will be the chief guest on the occasion, where teachers and parents of students will also be in attendance.

MKRMS seminar: Child’s IQ level linked to mother’s health

Lahore:14 August: Expectant women should be given healthy food, consisting of zinc, calcium and iron besides yogurt and milk on the daily basis because mother plays a pivotal role in a society. Weak mothers give birth to feeble children. The child’s IQ level will not be up to the mark and height will also be shorter. These views were expressed by the speakers at a seminar held here on "Healthy Mother, Healthy Pakistan and importance of food during pregnancy” jointly organised by High Noon Laboratories and Mir Khalil-ur-Rahman Memorial Society (Jang Group of Newspapers).

Punjab govt to issue funds to PEF for payments of its partner schools

LAHORE:14 August: The Punjab government has ordered to issue funds to Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) for the payments of its partner schools. A spokesperson for PEF said the Chief Minister had issued special directions to Accountant General Punjab regarding transfer of funds to PEF. Monthly financial assistance to PEF partner schools will be resumed soon after the availability of funds without any delay, the spokesperson added.The news.

LAHORE :12 August: Punjab University’s Hailey College of Commerce Assistant Professor Dr Hafiz Zafar Ahmed participated in 8th International Conference on Restructuring of the Global Economy (ROGE) and got certificate of “Best Track Presenter”. Ameer Hafiz Akif Saeed taken strong exception to arrest of a woman

LAHORE:August 11: Tanzim Islami (TI) ameer Hafiz Akif Saeed has taken strong exception to the arrest of a woman imparting Dars-e-Quran in Karachi with total disregard to the sanctity and protection guaranteed by Islam and civil norms to women inside homes. He said that the authorities should at least ensure the basic ethical code of our Deen and the requirements of criminal justice system and courts of law while taking action against the accused, he said in a statement on Friday.

All Punjab Schools reopen after summer break today

LAHORE:August 11:After over two and half months annual summer break, public sector schools across the province will reopen on Saturday (today). The summer vacation had started on May 17 in Punjab and as per the notification the schedule was for both public and private schools. However, over the years private schools have never followed the government’s instructions vis-à-vis summer break and follow their own schedule. While many private schools have already opened during this week, some others would be reopening in mid or last week of August.The news.

Technical training centres to be set up at 10 jails: minister

LAHORE:August 10: Technical training centres in collaboration with Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) will be established at 10 jails of the province. This was stated by Caretaker Home Minister Shaukat Javed during his visit to Lahore District Jail on Thursday. He said the Punjab Prisons Department served as an executing arm of criminal justice system. Medical equipment, including X-Ray machine, ECG, ultrasound machine, worth Rs 144 million will be procured for the prisoners.

Tevta campaign to plant trees in its 400 institutes across Punjab

LAHORE:August 10: Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) has kicked off the Green Tevta campaign to plant trees in its 400 institutes across Punjab. During a meeting chaired by Tevta General Manager Amir Aziz, committees were constituted to supervise the campaign. Amir Aziz said Independence Day would be a mega day this time. The students and staff in all institutes of Tevta would not only celebrate the Independence Day but also plant trees. He also advised the students to take part in the campaign enthusiastically. PSCA signed MoU with a private school for mutual research

Lahore:09 August:Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) on Wednesday has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a private school for mutual research. Punjab Safe Cities Authority CEO said that the purpose of the research project was to restore the trust of people on law enforcement agencies. The researchers will examine the complaints registered on Rescue 15 and the response of police. The project has been titled State Authority Project which will be started during the second week of August.The news.
