Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Visited various Exam Centres

Lahore:April 6: Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir on Wednesday visited various examination centres to review arrangements for BA/BSc examinations 2017. Controller of Examinations Prof Dr Shahid Munir, additional controllers Muhammad Rauf Nawaz and Raja Shahid Javed were also present on the occasion. The vice-chancellor talked to teachers, students and parents regarding arrangements for smoothly conducting the examinations and instructed the officials to remain vigilant.

75 firms attend UET career fair

LAHORE:05 April:Third Industrial Open House and Career Fair 2017 (IOH&CF’17) was held at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) on Tuesday. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, UET Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid said a strong liaison between academia and industry could guarantee progress and prosperity of the country. He said collective efforts could provide relief to the country from different crises and it would also be beneficial for the youth which was considered biggest asset for a nation.

Job fair at Punjab University

Lahore:April 3:The 7th job fair of the Punjab University’s College of Information Technology (PUCIT) was held here on Sunday in which 43 leading multinational and national IT companies had set up their stalls. PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir, PUCIT Principal Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion.

Pakistan Day at Punjab University

Lahore:24 March: Academic work is off on account of Pakistan Day at Punjab University, the campus eerily quiet and devoid of students. On the right, farther down from gate four of the new campus, are the boys’ hostel buildings. These, if they could, would tell tales — some myths, others more substantiated — of torture, extortion, moral policing and dirty power politics. Two mobile police units and scores of uniformed cops stand guard at the entrance while others lounge on the green patches along the hostel boundary walls.

Case filed against Punjab University students

Lahore:23 March:Punjab Police on Wednesday registered a case against 'unidentified students' of Punjab University for violence on campus, a day after the clash broke out between rival students' groups. At least 10 students were injured when activists of the Islami Jamiat-i-Talaba (IJT) clashed with students organising a Pakhtun cultural event at the Punjab University on Tuesday. The severity of the clash could be gauged from the intervention of a heavy contingent of police who fired tear gas shells to disperse the violent students.

Punjabi mushaira and Faiz Ahmad Poetry Competition at GCUniversity

Lahore:March 23:A Punjabi mushaira and the Faiz Ahmad Faiz Poetry Competition were held at the Government College University Lahore to mark World Poetry Day. Most of the poetry and song competitions were won by teams of the University of Engineering and Technology. Earlier, noted Punjabi poets from all over Pakistan presented their poetry at the Mushaira, while students from 22 universities participated in the competition.

Punjab University students Clash; 200 booked

Lahore:March 23:Muslim Town police registered a case against 200 students on different criminal charges, following a scuffle between two groups of students at Punjab University News campus. The case was registered against 200 unidentified students under Section 427, 147, 148, 353, 186 PPC on the complaint of the Muslim Town SHO. Police will trace the miscreants and identify them through CCTV footage, police sources said.The news.

Dozens injured in Punjab University clash

LAHORE:22 March:Ethnic diversity is difficult to celebrate at the best of times and becomes virtually impossible when certain elements are out to sabotage it all costs. A stark reminder of this was Tuesday’s clash at the Punjab University which left dozens of students injured. Pakhtun Culture Day celebrations, which aimed to mark the Nauroz festival, reportedly came under attack by students from the Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) — the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami.

A ceremony at GC university to distribute laptops in 38 MPhil

Lahore:March 18:A ceremony was held in Lahore sub-campus of a university to distribute laptops in 38 MPhil students under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme here on Friday. Punjab Minister for Higher Education Syed Raza Ali Gillani was the chief guest of the ceremony. Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) Chairman Dr Mohammad Nizamuddin was also present.
