Punjab College bagged first and third positions in BSc Exam

LAHORE :09 september:Two students of Punjab College bagged first and third positions in BSc examinations 2017 of the Punjab University. According to a press release, students Sadaf Zahid and Asma Latif were declared first and third with 681 and 668 marks respectively. PU Vice Chancellor Dr. Zafar Moeen, announced the results and awarded cheques, certificates and shields to the position holders. He also congratulated the students on these outstanding achievements.

Punjab University teachers rally against Myanmar massacre

LAHORE :September 9:Punjab University (PU) teachers took out a rally on Friday to express solidarity with Rohingya Muslims and criticised the international community on its silence on atrocities against innocent people in Myanmar. The rally started from PU Center for Undergraduate Studies and culminated at Institute of Education & Research (IER), New Campus. The teachers carrying banners and placards chanted slogans in favour of Rohingya Muslims and condemned the Myanmar government.The news.

38.32pc pass BA, BSc annual exam

LAHORE:08 september :Punjab University has declared the results of BA/BSc Annual Examination 2017 here on Thursday. According to result, BSc student Ms Sadaf Zahid (roll number 12476) got overall first position and obtained 681 marks. While BSc students, including Anilah Yasmeen (roll number 19413) & Maleeha Anwar (roll number 17995) jointly shared second position by securing 673 marks while BSc student Asma Latif (roll number 6505) stood third by securing 668 marks.

Pakistan observes World Literacy Day today

LAHORE:08 september : With somewhat stagnant literacy rate of 58 percent, Pakistan will celebrate International Literacy Day under the theme ‘Literacy in a digital world’ on Friday (today). The country’s overall literacy rate as per the latest Pakistan Economic Survey (2016-17) is 58 percent (among population of 10 years and above) with male literacy touching 70 percent while female literacy rate below 50 percent. Taking into account rural and urban divide, literacy rate is higher in urban areas i.e., 74 percent when compared to rural areas—49 percent literacy.

VU launches smartphone app for students

LAHORE:07 september:The solution was based on a collaborative relationship between the Punjab Higher Education Department, nine Boards of the Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) of Punjab, Bank of Punjab and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). PU youth convention pays tribute to 1965 War heroes

Lahore:07 september:Punjab University Department of Punjabi has produced a national song to pay tribute to matyrs of Pakistan Army on the eve of Defence Day. The national song was screened at youth convention organised by PU College of Earth and Environmental Sciences on Wednesday. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Moeen Nasir, CEES Principal Prof Dr Sajid Rashid, Chairperson Department of Punjabi Prof Dr Nabila Rehman, Lt-Gen (Retd) Ghulam Mustafa, Brig (Retd) Taimoor Khan, Brig (Retd Aslam Ghuman, faculty members and a large number of students were present.

Matric suppl exams BISE

Lahore:07 september: Secondary School Certificate (Matriculation) Supplementary Examinations 2017 under the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISE) will commence from Thursday (today). A BISE spokesperson said 56 examination centres had been established and around 28,000 candidates would appear in the exams.The news.

278,917 online admission applications received

LAHORE :07 september: As many as 683 public colleges have received 278,917 applications for admission to intermediate level classes through the Online College Admissions System (OCAS). The online system has been developed by Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) for Higher Education Department (HED) Punjab for processing intermediate admissions applications for their FA, FSC, ICS and I Com programmes.
