US team Visits University of Veterinary

LAHORE:August 4: National Association of Animal Breeders (NAAB) President Jay L Weiker from Wisconsin, the United State, visited the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) and called on Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha. According to a press release, Jay L Weiker also held a meeting with UVAS professors of Theriogenology. The VC briefed the guest on the UVAS academics, research, extension services, reproduction clinical and lab facilities for small and large animals, short term dairy training programmes and internship.

University of Veterinary Science to build livestock technology park

LAHORE :02 August:Dr Melad Ahmad shared his study outcomes on comparative efficacy of manual observation vs. NEDAP (Automated) heat and health monitoring in American Holstein cows. Nedap system improved heat detection rates from 40% to 79% when compared with two time manual observation; conventional heat detection method, said Dr Melad. By using these parameters, one could predict heat and health status of an individual cow standing, walking, lying, eating and rumination times, said Dr Ali while demonstrating an automated monitoring system.Published in The Express Tribune, August 2nd, 2017.

UVAS one-day training workshop on ‘Precision Dairy Farming

LAHORE :02 August:The Department of Theriogenology at the University of Veterinary and Animal Science (UVAS) organised a one-day training workshop on ‘Precision Dairy Farming’. Animal Production and Technology Faculty Dean Dr Annum Khalique chaired the workshop at the Ravi campus and emphasised on the importance of PDF in commercial farming. UVAS Workshop Isolation and Uses of Macrophages

LAHORE:May 5: A two-day training workshop “Isolation and Uses of Macrophages in Research”, organised by the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), started on Thursday.

According to a press release, UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha chaired the inaugural session of the workshop while Faculty of Bio-Sciences Dean Prof Dr Habib-ur-Rehman, Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology Chairman Associate Prof Dr Aqeel Javeed and a number of participants from public and private sectors were also present.

UVAS consultative meeting on meat export

LAHORE:14 April:University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore organised a consultative meeting on “Emerging scenario in regional meat market and role of Pakistan” here Thursday. According to a press release issued here, Lahore University of Management Sciences LUMS Pro-Chancellor Syed Babar Ali and UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha (SI), co-chaired the meeting and sought suggestions and technical inputs from the relevant stakeholders about the emerging scenario in regional meat market and role of Pakistan for enhancement of meat export in international market.

UVAS syndicate approves Rs3 billion annual budget

Lahore:30 June:The Syndicate of University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore on Wednesday approved Rs3.02 billion budget for the financial year 2016-17.

According to a press release issued here on Wednesday, Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha, while chairing the 44th syndicate meeting, said that focus would be on applied research and development projects for further improving the quality of education and services at the university.

He told the meeting that Rs1.624 billion had been allocated for development projects.
