UHS Medical colleges entrance test rescheduled for 23rd

LAHORE:01September: A decision has been taken to reschedule medical colleges entrance test from September 16 to 23 due to engagement of police and administration in Ashura-e-Muharram. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Secretary Akbar Durrani at Civil Secretariat on Friday held to review arrangements for entrance test for admissions to medical and dentals colleges of Punjab to be conducted by University of Health Sciences, Lahore.

Punjab government appointed Prof Dr Javed Akram as VC of UHS,

Lahore:July 28:The Punjab government has appointed Prof Dr Javed Akram as vice-chancellor of University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore. According to a press release, Javed Akram, founding vice-chancellor of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences/Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU), Islamabad, and ex-principal of Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore, will be the VC of UHS for a tenure of four years with effect from July 26.

LAHORE:08 May: A five-day certificate course on Supply Chain Management started at the University of Health Sciences (UHS) with the collaboration of USAID on Monday. Addressing at the inaugural session, Technical Adviser of USAID Global Health Supply Chain – Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) Programme, Dr Nisar Ahmad Cheema said the process of procurement, supply and distribution of medicine and other health commodities in public sector hospitals of the province was being made standardised, comprehensive and effective.

UHS workshop on “Basic Techniques in Forensic Pathology

LAHORE:26 April: The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr Mehmood Shoukat, has said that forensic pathology is becoming a neglected field because of lack of passion among the doctors. He was addressing the inaugural session of a three-day workshop on “Basic Techniques in Forensic Pathology”, here at UHS on Wednesday. Prof Mehmood Shaukat said that to meet the public interest, forensic pathologist had to be knowledgeable and highly skilled, the system had to be robust and the system’s immediate and long-term integrity needed to be assured.

University of Health Sciences BDS result 2017

Lahore:December 16: The University of Health Sciences (UHS) on Friday declared the result of first professional BDS annual examination 2017. Some 930 candidates from 14 affiliated dental colleges appeared in the examination out of which 609 passed. Mahnoor Zahra of FMH College got 618/700 marks and secured first position. Saba Nasir of Faisalabad Medical University, Faisalabad got 598/700 marks and secured second while Zoha Nasir of de'Montmorency College of Dentistry, Lahore got 596/700 marks and secured third position. LAHORE:02 December: The Lahore High Court Thursday reserved judgment on petitions challenging central admission policy of the private medical colleges and restrained the private colleges from offering admission and displaying merit lists. A division bench headed by Justice Ayesha A Malik and Justice Jawad Hassan heard the petitions moved by students and Young Doctors Association. During the proceedings, Advocate Ijaz Ahmad Awan who was representing the students submitted that the last date has been announced by the medical colleges to apply for admission.

University of Health Sciences Exams postponed

LAHORE:27 November: All the theory and practical examinations scheduled to be held on November 27 and 28 under the University of Health Sciences (UHS ), have been postponed. In a press release issued on Sunday, UHS spokesperson said that new schedule for the examinations would be announced later. He said that as per the direction of Punjab Specialised Health Care and Medical Education department, the classes at the university would remain suspended on Monday (today) and Tuesday (tomorrow).The news.
