Students demand end to rising cost of education

LAHORE:18 October:Students from different varsities of the city protested in solidarity with the students of the Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad and demanded an end to the rising cost of education in the country. The demonstration was organised by the Progressive Youth Alliance (PYA) outside the Lahore Press Club on Monday. University of Engineering hosts Industrial Open House 2017

University of Engineering open days end

Lahore:July 30:The two open days organised by the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) for prospective engineering students concluded here on Saturday. The event attracted more than 15,000 students and parents who were briefed on the university programmes, policies and life on campus. In this connection, special stalls were also set up at UET Kala Shah Kaku, Narowal and Faisalabad campuses. UET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid appreciated the convener, Prof Dr Naveed Ramazan, his team, faculty and chairs of all departments.The news.

University of Engineering Lahore entrance test result

Lahore:July 23:University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore on Saturday announced the results of the entrance test for admission to engineering institutes of the province. A UET spokesperson said candidates who had appeared for the test could get their results by entering their roll number and CNIC number on the university’s website, www.uet.edu.pk.The news.

Chemical manufacturers,University of Engineering body meets

LAHORE:July 21: The first meeting of the committee constituted by Pakistan Chemical Manufacturers Association (PCMA) and the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) was held at UET on Thursday. Chemical Engineering Department Chairman Prof Naveed Ramzan chaired the meeting of the committee, constituted by PCMA and UET to evolve a long-term plan to conduct the research projects for benefit of the chemical sector under the industry-academia linkages programme.

75 firms attend UET career fair

LAHORE:05 April:Third Industrial Open House and Career Fair 2017 (IOH&CF’17) was held at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) on Tuesday. UET Training course on groundwater modelling

Lahore:November 30: Vice-Chancellor of University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid has said prime task of engineering is to contribute to resolve societal issues and practitioners will have to be well-equipped with modern technology to resolve such issues.

    He expressed these views while talking to participants in inaugural ceremony of five-day training course on ground water modelling and management designed by Centre of Excellence in Water Resources Engineering held at University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore on  Tuesday.

UET schedule for admission

Lahore:  November 19:University of Engineering and Technology (UET) on Friday announced schedule for admission to university’s postgraduate and MPhil programmes.

The admission forms can be submitted from Nov 28 to Dec 12, 2016.

Applicants should have at least 60 percent or CGPA 2.5 on the scale of 4.00 under semester system in MSc/BS Hons. The prospectus will be available at the UET admission portal http://admission.uet.edu.pk

Funeral prayers for martyrs of Police Training College Quetta

Lahore:October 27:Funeral prayers for the martyrs of Police Training College, Quetta terror attack was offered at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh on Wednesday.

Inspector General Police, Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera, DIG Operations Punjab, Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, Additional IGP Operations Punjab, Capt (R) Arif Nawaz, Additional IGP Establishment, Dr Arif Mushtaq , Additional IGP Legal, Ali Zulnorain Sheikh, CCPO Lahore, DIG Operations Lahore, DIG Headquarters, DIG IT and other senior police officers offered funeral prayer for martyrs.

UET delegation of 26 students departed to Quetta

Lahore:August 13:Technology, Lahore, departed to Quetta via Azadi Train to participate in different events related to Independence Day over there.

According to a press release, UET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Fazal Ahmed Khalid while talking to the students before their departure said, "Pakistan is everything for us and we should perform our duties with unity to make Pakistan strong so that we may strengthen identity and dignity of our land."The news.

 

Students mourn loss of lives in Quetta bombing

Lahore:09 August:A group of students in Lahore held at demonstration at the Liberty Roundabout on Monday to mourn the loss of at least 70 lives in the suicide blast at Civil Hospital, Quetta.

The students were affiliated with the Democratic Students’ Alliance (DSA).They said they demanded the authorities concerned to protect and respect the constitutionally guaranteed rights of life and security of the Baloch people.

DSA member Ramis Sohail said they had gathered on a short notice to express solidarity with the bereaved families.

Summer school programme concludes at UET

Lahore:August 01:The four-day IEEE COMSOC Summer School Programme 2016 organised by Al-Khawarizmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS), UET in collaboration with IEEE UET Lahore, IEEE COMSOC Lahore Section and IEEE Punjab University concluded on Sunday. The first two days of the programme were held at the Punjab University while the KICS-UET hosted the remaining programme. COMSOC Summer School was designed for fresh graduates and students doing MS/PhD in the fields of IT and Communication.
