24th Convocation: UET confers honorary PhD on Ahsan Iqbal

LAHORE:01December:The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has conferred honorary doctoral degree on Federal Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Thursday at its 24th Convocation. Speaking at the convocation, the federal minister, who was also the guest of honour, thanked the university for the degree and said that it was an honour to receive it from his alma mater. He said, “I dedicate this honour to my parents and teachers”.

10,000 to get CM’s e-Rozgaar Programme training

LAHORE:November 29: Around 10,000 candidates will complete training for CM’s e-Rozgaar Programme by February 2018. Number of candidates trained depends on the capacity of lab ranging from 100 to 300 in each cycle per centre. The CM’s e-Rozgaar Programme established by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) aims to provide training to budding freelancers to help improve their skill set and assist them in earning a sustainable income and achieve upward economic mobility.

Students demand end to rising cost of education

LAHORE:18 October:Students from different varsities of the city protested in solidarity with the students of the Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad and demanded an end to the rising cost of education in the country. The demonstration was organised by the Progressive Youth Alliance (PYA) outside the Lahore Press Club on Monday. University of Engineering open days end

Lahore:July 30:The two open days organised by the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) for prospective engineering students concluded here on Saturday. The event attracted more than 15,000 students and parents who were briefed on the university programmes, policies and life on campus. In this connection, special stalls were also set up at UET Kala Shah Kaku, Narowal and Faisalabad campuses. Lahore:July 23:University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore on Saturday announced the results of the entrance test for admission to engineering institutes of the province. A UET spokesperson said candidates who had appeared for the test could get their results by entering their roll number and CNIC number on the university’s website, www.uet.edu.pk.The news.

LAHORE:July 21: The first meeting of the committee constituted by Pakistan Chemical Manufacturers Association (PCMA) and the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) was held at UET on Thursday. UET Training course on groundwater modelling

Lahore:November 30: Vice-Chancellor of University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid has said prime task of engineering is to contribute to resolve societal issues and practitioners will have to be well-equipped with modern technology to resolve such issues.

    He expressed these views while talking to participants in inaugural ceremony of five-day training course on ground water modelling and management designed by Centre of Excellence in Water Resources Engineering held at University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore on  Tuesday.
