Punjab University library orientation

LAHORE :November 14:The Punjab University library has started its annual ‘library orientation programme’ for freshers. While addressing the ceremony, PU Chief Librarian Dr Muhammad Haroon Usmani said library was to satisfy the need of all students especially the researchers. He assured continuity and enrichment of the orientation programme. “The library would organise six programmes on daily basis and to accommodate freshers the programmes would continue until January 2018”, he added.The news.

LAHORE:12 November:Allama Iqbal Open University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui said that altering beliefs, actions and attitudes would bring sustainable change at all levels. He was delivering a lecture in Technology, Entertainment, Design conference (TEDx) which was organised for the first time at Punjab University by the Department of English Language and Literature on Saturday.

Another US patent awarded to PUCIT faculty

LAHORE:10 november:Punjab University College of Information Technology (PUCIT) Assistant Professor Muhammad Kamran Malik has been awarded the US patent titled “System and process for natural language processing and reporting.” Malik said that organisations were in need for quick, usable intelligence in order to drive their business needs such as market research and customer perception. Punjab University delegation visits Iqbal mausoleum

LAHORE:10 November:A delegation of the Punjab University, under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Dr Zaffar Mueen Nasar, visited the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal and laid a floral wreath. Lahore:09 november: Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA), Punjab University Teachers Front (PUTF) and several office-bearers of PU Academic Staff Association (ASA) have condemned new policy and process initiated by the government for the appointment of vice-chancellors in public sector universities and warned the government of agitation.

Punjab University residential apartments inaugurated

LAHORE :09 november:Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zaffar Mueen Nasir on Wednesday inaugurated 36 newly-constructed residential apartments for teachers, administrative officers and other employees at New Campus. PU Registrar Dr Muhammad Khalid Khan, Resident Officer-I Iftikhar Ahmad Chaudhary, Resident Officer-II Malik Muhammad Zahir, Acting Chief Engineer Umair Latif and faculty members were present on the occasion.

PU newbies break in with artwork at the Shakir

LAHORE:06 November:An exhibition titled as ‘Subjective realities’ was organised where 19 recent graduates of Punjab University (PU) College of Art and Design showcased their works to the public at the Shakir Ali Museum in the city. One of the artists, Zeb-Un-Nisa Asad’s thesis revolved around the phenomenon of over-thinking. Explaining the concept that drove her artistic process, Nisa said that everyone had passed through variety of situations and challenges during their lifespan which had helped them become better and practical every time.

Punjab university VC Trauma centre inaugurated

LAHORE :November 4:The University of Punjab (PU) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Moeen Nasir on Friday inaugurated ‘Psychological Trauma Centre’ at Centre for Clinical Psychology. This is the first initiative by any university for mental treatment of the patients facing psychological problems. Faculty of Life Sciences Dean Prof Dr Naeem Khan, Centre for Clinical Psychology Director Prof Dr Rukhsana Kausar, senior faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion.

Lahore:November 3: The University of Punjab, Center for Clinical Psychology (CCP) will organise an inaugural ceremony of “Psychological Trauma Centre” on Friday (today) at new building, Centre for Clinical Psychology, near Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre.
