University of Naples L’Orientale, Italy Dr Daniela Vitolo, Dean Faculty of Arts and Humanities Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal Chawla, PSC In-charge Dr Rukhsana Iftikhar, Dr Ahmad Ejaz, Dr Amjad Abbas Khan, Prof Syed Qamar Abbas, Dr Mahboob Hussain, Dr Faraz Anjum, Dr Maqbool Awan, Dr Naumana Kiran, Dr Robina, Bushra Shokat, Syed Karim Haider and research scholars were present.

Punjab University approves 36 PhD synopses

LAHORE:February 23: Punjab University Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB) in its meeting held on Thursday approved 36 PhD synopses and 11 evaluation reports. The meeting was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Zakria Zakir. Prof Dr Shahid Kamal, Prof Dr Nasira Jabeen, Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal Chawla, Prof Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan, Prof Dr Mumtaz Akhter, Prof Dr Hassan Mobeen Alam, Prof Dr Khalid Hussain, Prof Dr Javed Iqbal Qazi, Prof Dr Tahira Basharat, Prof Dr Fakhar-ul-Haq Noori, Prof Dr Anjum Nasim Sabri and Registrar Dr Muhammad Khalid Khan attended the meeting.

Punjab University students excel

Lahore:February 17: Punjab University (PU) students participated in various competitions organised by different institutions and got prominent positions. According to a press release, in Inter-Punjab debate competition organised by a private group of colleges, Ismail Sherwani and Yasir Waseem of PU got first positions and team trophy as well in English (serious) and Urdu (humorous) debate respectively while Shabahat Qamar got first position in Urdu (serious) debate.

Punjab University issues LLB schedule

LAHORE:03 February: Punjab University (PU) issued schedule for submission of admission forms for the LLB (5 years) Part-I and Part-II annual examination 2018. Last date for submission of admission forms for part-I and part-II with single fee is 26 April and 27 April respectively. The candidates can submit the forms with double fee till 17 May and 18 May respectively. The last date for submission of admission forms for late college candidates of LLB (5 years) Part-I annual examination 2018 with single fee is 3 May while forms can be submitted with double fee till 23 May.

Punjab University students Competitions

LAHORE:February 1: Punjab University students participated in various competitions organised by different institutions and grabbed prominent pistons. According to a press release, PU student clinched first position in English debate competition held at University College of Lahore and team trophy in Superior University’s bilingual declamation. While in music competition, PU students got first position in Fast University. PU students got first positions in Qira’at, national songs and team trophy in English debate at Govt College Jhang.

Body to resolve PUnjab university teachers’ issues

LAHORE:31 january: Punjab Minister for Higher Education Syed Raza Ali Gillani Tuesday formed a five-member committee to resolve the promotion issues of Punjab University (PU) teaching staff. The minister, who is also Pro-Chancellor of the university, also formed a three-member committee to give practical suggestions to improve university’s ranking and resolving pending issues. The committee will submit its report in two weeks. The minister chaired a meeting at PU and assured the committees that their recommendations would be implemented accordingly.The news.

The elections of PU syndicate on the seats of professor

Lahore:30 January: The elections of Punjab University (PU) syndicate on the seats of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and lecturers were held here Monday. On the seat of professor, Teachers Front's Prof Dr Sajid Rashid, Teachers Front (Founders Group) Prof Dr Shahid Ghazi and PU Academic Forum's Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood were contesting. Prof Dr Sajid Rashid bagged 28 votes and won.

32 of arrested PU students served show-cause notices

LAHORE:27 January: The Punjab University (PU) administration on Friday served the first instalment of show-cause notices on 32 students of the varsity allegedly involved in recent clashes between Islami Jamiat Tulaba (IJT) and the Pukhtun Council. Students Affairs Director and disciplinary committee Secretary Shahid Mehmood Gull sent the notices with a detailed charge-sheet to residential addresses of the students as well as prisons where they were being held after an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) sent them on physical and judicial remand.

Clean-up’ operation continues at Punjab University

LAHORE:26 January:The Punjab University administration has decided to take measures to end presence of student groups at the hostel and started a ‘clean-up’ operation by removing the office of the Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT). The university administration moved against the offices of the IJT after clashes erupted at the campus on Monday resulting in more than a dozen injuries as well as subsequent arrests of IJT members and Pashtun and Baloch students. More than 200 students have been arrested since Monday, out of which 196 were presented before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday.
