PU teachers rally in support of Rohingya Muslims

LAHORE:09 september:Teachers of the Punjab University took out a rally on Friday in solidarity with the persecuted Muslim minority of Myanmar – the Rohingya. The teachers’ community held banners and posters highlighting the plight of the oppressed minority. The rally was organised by Teachers’ Front and it started from the Centre for Undergraduate Studies and ended at Institute of Education and Research. A large number of faculty members, deans, directors and female teachers of the varsity took part in the rally. UN expects up to 300,000 Rohingya refugees

Punjab University teachers rally against Myanmar massacre

LAHORE :September 9:Punjab University (PU) teachers took out a rally on Friday to express solidarity with Rohingya Muslims and criticised the international community on its silence on atrocities against innocent people in Myanmar. The rally started from PU Center for Undergraduate Studies and culminated at Institute of Education & Research (IER), New Campus. The teachers carrying banners and placards chanted slogans in favour of Rohingya Muslims and condemned the Myanmar government.The news.

38.32pc pass BA, BSc annual exam

LAHORE:08 september :Punjab University has declared the results of BA/BSc Annual Examination 2017 here on Thursday. According to result, BSc student Ms Sadaf Zahid (roll number 12476) got overall first position and obtained 681 marks. While BSc students, including Anilah Yasmeen (roll number 19413) & Maleeha Anwar (roll number 17995) jointly shared second position by securing 673 marks while BSc student Asma Latif (roll number 6505) stood third by securing 668 marks.

PU youth convention pays tribute to 1965 War heroes

Lahore:07 september:Punjab University Department of Punjabi has produced a national song to pay tribute to matyrs of Pakistan Army on the eve of Defence Day. The national song was screened at youth convention organised by PU College of Earth and Environmental Sciences on Wednesday. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Moeen Nasir, CEES Principal Prof Dr Sajid Rashid, Chairperson Department of Punjabi Prof Dr Nabila Rehman, Lt-Gen (Retd) Ghulam Mustafa, Brig (Retd) Taimoor Khan, Brig (Retd Aslam Ghuman, faculty members and a large number of students were present.

Punjab University quality control education programmes

Lahore:23 august: Punjab University (PU) and Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote need-based standardisation and quality control education programmes and transfer of technology to the industry for industrial and socio-economic development. According to the MoU, both parties would jointly initiate market-oriented research and development projects and other activities in the area of common interest, sharing their human and material resources. They would jointly organise training workshops, seminars and workshops.

Teachers accuse PU VC of manipulating polls

LAHORE:20 august:Opposition to the current management, especially against provisional Vice Chancellor Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir, was visible among the ranks of the Punjab University teachers’ community as the elections of the Academic Council was held at the varsity. Punjab University to start MBBS, BDS this year

LAHORE:August 19: Punjab University’s Academic Council has approved bachelor’s level medical programmes ie MBBS and BDS along with curriculum as taught in King Edward Medical University (KEMU) from the academic session 2017. The meeting was chaired by Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir in which PU Registrar Dr Muhammad Khalid Khan, heads of academic departments and professors participated.

Lahore:18 august:Punjab University (PU) students have shown outstanding performances in co-curricular activities organised by state TV to celebrate Independence Day. According to a press release, students, including Atif Shafiq and Shahzad Abbas, clinched first position with a cash prize of Rs 30,000 in state TV Azadi quiz competition at Lahore Centre while in final round in Islamabad, they got second position with cash prize of Rs 30,000.

PU, Chinese varsity agree to boost academic ties

LAHORE:09 August: The Punjab University Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Liaoning Communication University, China to enhance academic cooperation. The memorandum of understanding aims at promoting academic cooperation between the two educational institutions by providing internships, arranging seminars, conferences and workshops. Both the universities will invite their faculties to work on joint publications.
