Punjab University’s annual book fair attracts Book Lovers

Lahore:May 07:A large number of people particularly students and teachers visited Punjab University’s annual book fair on the second day Friday with administration claiming the sale of 29,630 books on the first day of the mega event.

Besides students and teachers, people from different walks of life, including parliamentarians, journalists, writers and lawyers visited the book fair on the second day.

Lahore:03 May: Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran Monday chaired a meeting of book fair coordination committee to review arrangements regarding the upcoming book fair to be organised by Punjab University administration from May 5 to May 7.

Punjab University World Malaria Day marked

Lahore:30 April:Punjab University Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics (MMG) has observed World DNA Day and World Malaria Day.

A lecture was organised in collaboration with National Academy of Young Scientists (NAYS) to create awareness about malaria and Zika virus. MMG Chairperson Prof Dr Anjum Nasim Sabri shared her views about fighting malaria. NAYS President Aftab Ahmed shared his views about DNA discovery.

Punjab University organise a condolence Reference

Lahore:April 28: Punjab University will organise a condolence reference to pay tribute to renowned physicist and former PU Faculty of Science Dean Prof Dr Muhammad Saleem at Al-Raazi Hall at 10:30am today.

According to a press release issued here on Wednesday, PU Vice-Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran, senior journalist Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami, Liaqat Baloch, Prof Dr Jamil Anwar, Ihsan Ullah Waqas, Prof Dr Muhammad Ali, Prof Dr Khawaja Muhammad Zakria, Prof Maqsood Anwar Butt and Iftikhar Ahmad Chaudhary will address on the occasion.The news.

Punjab University Exams of MA Urdu Part 1 and MA Urdu Part 2

Lahore:April 27: Punjab University Department of Examinations has notified that the examinations of MA Urdu Part 1 and MA Urdu Part 2 “according to new syllabus” will be held from the year 2016 and 2017 respectively.

In a press release, the PU spokesperson said the candidates who wanted to appear in both MA Urdu Part 1 and Part 2 examinations in annual examinations 2016 would have to opt “old course” adding it was mandatory for the candidates who want to appear in MA Urdu Part 1 examinations only in annual examinations 2016 to opt “new syllabus” as per the notification.

Punjab University’s Institute of Agricultural Science Organised a Seminar

Lahore:23 April: Punjab University’s Institute of Agricultural Science (IAGS) has organised a seminar on “Career Development for MS/M.Phil and PhD Scholars.” According to a press release, Faculty of Life Sciences Dean Prof Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan was the chief guest on the occasion while Prof Dr Javed Iqbal Qazi was the guest of honour. IAGS Director Prof Dr Muhammad Saleem Haider welcomed the participants. Dr Saif-ur-Rehman from COMSATS and a resource person from the Environmental Society of Pakistan delivered lectures.

Sri Lankan Delegation Visit Punjab University

Lahore:April 20: A delegation from Sri Lanka comprising senior Buddhist priests, politicians, academicians and officials paid a visit to Punjab University (PU) here on Tuesday.

An interactive meeting was arranged at Al Raazi Hall of Undergraduate Block in which PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, senior most Buddhist priest Dr Ittapahans Dhammalankara Maba Nayake, delegation’s leader and Speaker of Sri Lankan parliament Karu Jayasuria, Pakistan’s Deputy High Commissioner in Sri Lanka Dr Sarfaraz Ahmed Khan, PU deans and heads of various departments were present.
