LAHORE:December 10: Punjab University students have clinched team trophy and four gold medals in All Pakistan Music Conference held at Open Air Theatre, Jinnah Bagh. PU College of Art & Design (CAD) student Ghufran Chishti, Muhammad Awais from Department of English, Zaroon from Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology and Nazar Abbas from Department of Psychology participated in the event.

24 varsities prepare action plans for peace

LAHORE:December 5: In order to promote peace, tolerance and harmony at university campuses, 24 leading public sector universities of the Punjab have prepared concrete action plans at regional and university levels. Under the joint venture of University of Education and Punjab Higher Education Commission, these plans were prepared by the Director Student Affairs (DSAs) who are considered the direct points of contact to deal various issues being faced by the universities’ students, reads a press release.

Lahore:December 5:Punjab University Dean Faculty of Life Sciences and former registrar Prof Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan was awarded ‘YKSUG Visiting Professor Fellowship’ by Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Belarus. According to the Ministry of Education, Republic of Belarus, ‘YKSUG Visiting Professor Fellowship’ is awarded to help improve bilateral academic linkages and research collaborations between Belarusian and Pakistani universities.The news.

Punjab University held written test for recruitment on various posts

Lahore:27 November: Punjab University (PU) administration held written test for recruitment on various posts at the university’s Wahdat Road Examinations Centre. According to PU Registrar Dr Muhammad Khalid Khan, more than 900 candidates appeared in the written test for the posts of assistant registrar, assistant controller, assistant treasurer and school teacher at PU Laboratory High School. Meanwhile, PU Exam Department has declared the result of BSc (Engg.) Chemical Engineering 8th Semester examination 2017. The detailed result is available at PU website www.pu.edu.pk.

Promotion of university level inventions urged

LAHORE :November 24:Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Moeen Nasir has urged the scientists to help society and people benefit from the inventions taking place at the universities. He was addressing the first three-day international meeting of scientists “Science and Society" organised by PU's Centre for High Energy Physics (CHEP) here on Thursday. CHEP Director Dr Bilal Masud, faculty members, scientists and students were also present.

Prof M.Naeem Khan awarded YKSUG Visiting Professor Fellowship Award

LAHORE:November 25: Punjab University (PU) former Registrar and Faculty of Life Sciences Dean Prof Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan has been awarded the “YKSUG Visiting Professor Fellowship Award” by the “Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno” (YKSUG) for the year 2017. According to the Ministry of Education, the fellowship is intended to improve bilateral academic linkages and research collaborations between Belarusian and Pakistani universities.

NAB summons PU ex-VC’s wife in her appointment case

LAHORE:November 25: National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Lahore has summoned Associate Professor Shazia Qureshi, wife of Punjab University's former vice-chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, for December 4 to record her statement regarding her appointment, The News has learnt. According to a notice issued to Ms Shazia on November 23, the Bureau has asked her to appear before the Deputy Director IW-III of NAB named Iqbal Hassan on December 4 as investigations against her husband and other PU officials are underway.

Punjab University library orientation

LAHORE :November 14:The Punjab University library has started its annual ‘library orientation programme’ for freshers. While addressing the ceremony, PU Chief Librarian Dr Muhammad Haroon Usmani said library was to satisfy the need of all students especially the researchers. He assured continuity and enrichment of the orientation programme. “The library would organise six programmes on daily basis and to accommodate freshers the programmes would continue until January 2018”, he added.The news.

LAHORE:12 November:Allama Iqbal Open University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui said that altering beliefs, actions and attitudes would bring sustainable change at all levels. He was delivering a lecture in Technology, Entertainment, Design conference (TEDx) which was organised for the first time at Punjab University by the Department of English Language and Literature on Saturday.
