A health and wellness centre inaugurated at LUMS

LAHORE :28 June: A health and wellness centre was inaugurated at the Lahore University of Management Sciences for entire LUMS community on Wednesday. According to a press release issued here, earlier Prof Dr S. Sohail H. Naqvi on behalf of LUMS had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a hospital to develop and operate a health and wellness centre on the university’s premises for the provision of emergency medical services to all the members of the LUMS community.

University of Animal Science approves Rs3.97 billion deficit budget

LAHORE:27 June: The syndicate of University of Veterinary and Animal Science (UVAS) on Tuesday approved a deficit budget with total outlay of Rs3.970 billion for the financial year 2018-19. The 55th meeting of the syndicate was chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha who speaking on the occasion said the current budget was focused on applied research and development projects for further improving the quality of education, research and services at the university. The value of the ongoing 105 research projects is Rs 1.262 billion, he added.

Lahore:26 June:A five-day workshop on “Advanced clinical and diagnostic techniques in pet animal practice” was started at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) here on Monday. LAHORE:26 June: Punjab Minister for Health Dr Jawad Sajid Khan presided over a meeting of syndicate of Fatima Jinnah Medical University here on Monday. Punjab govt Portfolio of Higher Education,Special Education, Literacy

LAHORE:20 June: Punjab government on Tuesday withdrew portfolio of Higher Education, Schools Education, Special Education, Literacy & Non-Formal and Basic Education from caretaker provincial minister Ch Faisal Mushtaq. It is pertinent to mention here that there was strong resentment among general public over the award of portfolio of education to caretaker minister Ch Faisal Mushtaq as he owns a chain of private schools.

QAED two days PEELI training of newly recruited Educators

Lahore:16 June:According to the notification, “Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Educational Development (QAED), Punjab has planned two days PEELI training of newly recruited Educators-2017, who have received three-day PEELI training during the Induction Training Programme-2017. The said training will be conducted in all districts of Punjab with effect from 22-06-2018 to 23-06-2018 in batches.”

Over 30,000 teachers to get English training Under PEELI

LAHORE:16 June: More than 30,000 schoolteachers will receive English language training under the Punjab Education and English Language Initiative (PEELI). The two-day training will be conducted by the Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Educational Development (QAED), where 30,918 educators will be trained by 773 trainers in the same number of classes. The training is to be held between June 22 and 23.The news.

Punjab HED extends date to apply for position of ITU VC

LAHORE:15 June: After getting a negligible response from academics, the Punjab Higher Education Department (HED) has extended the last date to apply for the post of Information Technology University (ITU) vice-chancellor by more than half a month. A new advertisement has been floated by the HED, extending the date to June 20. In the earlier advertisement, the last date was set as June 3.

PU College of Earth Sciences won an environmental research project

Lahore:14 June: Punjab University College of Earth and Environmental Sciences has won an environmental research project from Higher Education Commission of Pakistan worth Rs 3.7m. CEES Principal Prof Dr Sajid Rashid had proposed the research project titled “reduction in air emissions through modifications and improve efficiency in firing of brick kiln units”.

Govt College University VC gets additional charge of Narowal varsity

LAHORE:14 June: Prof Dr Hassan Amir Shah, Vice Chancellor of Govt College University Lahore, has been given additional charge of the post of Vice Chancellor, University of Narowal. A notification in this regard was issued on Wednesday by the Punjab Higher Education Department after the approval of Chancellor/Punjab Governor Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana. According to the notification, Prof Hassan Shah will hold the additional charge of the post till the appointment of regular Vice Chancellor at University of Narowal. Prof Shah is an eminent physicist and recipient of Sitara-i-Imtiaz.
