LAHORE:May 12: Government College University’s Quaid-e-Azam Hostel launched a literary magazine “The Quaid” at its silver jubilee celebrations. LAHORE:08 May: A five-day certificate course on Supply Chain Management started at the University of Health Sciences (UHS) with the collaboration of USAID on Monday. Addressing at the inaugural session, Technical Adviser of USAID Global Health Supply Chain – Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) Programme, Dr Nisar Ahmad Cheema said the process of procurement, supply and distribution of medicine and other health commodities in public sector hospitals of the province was being made standardised, comprehensive and effective.

National conference on Pakistani Literature

LAHORE:06 May: Literature is the name given to creativity; our literature must highlight and resolve the problems faced by our society, said Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) Chairman Dr Nizamuddin. He was addressing the first national conference on “Counter Balancing Politics and Aesthetics in Pakistani Literature” on Saturday. The event was organised by the Punjab University (PU) Department of English Language and Literature, the PHEC and the Punjab Information and Culture Department and was attended by renowned artists, faculty members and a large number of students.

Tevta will upgrade the curriculum of its DAE programme

Punjab University got a female VC Prof Dr Nasira Jabeen

LAHORE :28 April: For the first time in the history of Punjab University (PU), the university got a female Vice-Chancellor (VC) with the appointment of Prof Dr Nasira Jabeen as the provisional VC on Friday. Prof Dr Nasira Jabeen is Dean Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences and Director of the Institute of Administrative Sciences at PU. Separately, the Punjab government has appointed Prof Dr Farkhanda Manzoor as provisional VC of the Lahore College for Women University (LCWU). Prof Dr Farkhanda Manzoor is Chairperson of Department of Zoology at the LCWU.

Beaconhouse National University Degree Show 2018 conclude

LAHORE:27 April: The Annual Thesis Show of the Mariam Dawood School of Visual Arts and Design (SVAD), Beaconhouse National University (BNU), the “Degree Show 2018” will conclude on Friday (today). This year’s SVAD Degree Show features thesis works of around 68 graduating students of Visual Arts, Visual Communication Design, Textile and Fibre Studies, Fashion and Fibre Studies and Jewelry and Accessory Design.

Punjab University,s ad hoc employees staged a demonstration

LAHORE:26 April: Dozens of ad hoc employees of the Punjab University (PU) serving on contract basis staged a demonstration on Wednesday outside the Lahore Press Club and demanded the government and the university administration to regularise their services. They were carrying banners and placards that highlighted their plight. UHS workshop on “Basic Techniques in Forensic Pathology

LAHORE:26 April: The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr Mehmood Shoukat, has said that forensic pathology is becoming a neglected field because of lack of passion among the doctors. He was addressing the inaugural session of a three-day workshop on “Basic Techniques in Forensic Pathology”, here at UHS on Wednesday. Prof Mehmood Shaukat said that to meet the public interest, forensic pathologist had to be knowledgeable and highly skilled, the system had to be robust and the system’s immediate and long-term integrity needed to be assured.
