international workshop for Phil/PhD scholars at Punjab University

Lahore:21 March: A six-day international workshop on research proposal development for young faculty members and MPhil/PhD scholars started at Punjab University’s Institute of Social and Cultural Studies (ISCS). Trainers from Germany, the US and Pakistan are resource persons of the workshop. Prof Dr Rubeena Zakar, Dr Khalil Ahmed, faculty members and M Phil/PhD scholars from various departments attended the workshop.

PU and Education University of Hong Kong organise Conferences, seminars

LAHORE:20 March: Punjab University (PU) and Education University of Hong Kong Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote academic collaboration. According to the MoU, both the universities will launch research activities and exchange faculty members, research personnel, students and staff. Both the universities will also exchange academic and other publication and organise conferences, seminars and meetings.

PU extended date of online private registration forms for B.Com part-I

Punjab University (PU) extended date of submission of online private registration forms for B.Com part-I annual examination 2018 till 29 March with Rs6,460 fee. Meanwhile, the PU declared the results of M.Com (3½ years programme) part-II annual examination 2017, BS.Ed first, second and third professionals second annual 2016 and first annual 2017 and BS (four years programme) 8th semester examination 2017. Knowledge Economy Using Technology at University of Veterinary Sciences

LAHORE:20 March: A two-day international workshop on “Collective Action for Knowledge Economy Using Technology (CAKE-TECH)” started at University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) here on Monday. Norway’s Deputy Head of Mission Siv Kaspersen chaired the inaugural session of the workshop. UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha, Virtual University Rector Dr Naveed A. Malik, University of Gambia Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Faqir Muhammad Anjum, faculty members, students and national and international participants were also present on the occasion.

Government College University literary festival

LAHORE :18 March:The three-day sixth international conference on education titled as “Beyond Classroom” concluded at University of Education Speakers at the Ravians Literary Festival at Government College University (GCU) on Saturday highlighted the need to protect tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Lahore. “We understand the change is inevitable but it should not be at the cost of cultural heritage,” said Architect Nayyar Ali Dada while addressing the opening session of the festival on “Evolution of Lahore”.

International conference on education at University of Education

Lahore:March 18:The three-day sixth international conference on education titled as “Beyond Classroom” concluded at University of Education (UOE) here on Saturday. Punjab Minister for School Education Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan was the chief guest of the closing ceremony. He lauded the university management for organising the conference. Punjab University participated in CM’s Co-Curricular Competitions

Lahore:16 March: Punjab University (PU) students from various departments participated in Chief Minister’s Co-Curricular Competitions Lahore District Round and gained positions. In Urdu debate degree level competition Muhammad Fahad Bin Faraz got second position while in Postgraduate level Sabahat Qamar and Shaista Fajar obtained first and third positions respectively.

Government College organised a seminar “Dare to Dream

LAHORE:March 16:University (GCU) on Thursday organised a seminar “Dare to Dream” to motivate students especially the girls to follow their dreams in life. According to a press release, former Pakistan women cricket team captain Ms. Marina Iqbal and noted poet Ahmad Hammad shared the motivational stories of their success and advised the students to work harder to turn their dreams into reality. The seminar was followed by training session to make students aware of the requirements of employers.

Beaconhouse National University three-day conference

LAHORE:March 16:Renowned peace activist and political analyst, Mr OP Shah visited Beaconhouse National University (BNU) Thursday. According to a press release, he was accompanied by member of the Board of Governors, BNU, former foreign minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri. During his visit to BNU, Shah called on Vice-Chancellor, Shahid Hafiz Kardar, Deans and faculty. He also delivered a talk at the university auditorium attended by faculty and students.

inaugural ceremony of Punjab Tianjin University of Technical Education

LAHORE:March 16: Punjab Minister for Schools Education Rana Mashhood has said the inaugural ceremony of the proposed Punjab Tianjin University of Technical Education (PTUT) will be held on March 23 in which Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif will be the chief guest. A temporary campus of this university has been set up in Township Lahore whereas permanent campus will be constructed on Raiwind Road, he added.

Punjab University observing a sit-in outside vice chancellor's office

LAHORE:March 10:A number of Pashtun and Baloch students of Punjab University (PU) have been observing a sit-in outside the vice chancellor's office for the last couple of days, demanding the administration restore their fellows expelled recently. The students alleged the PU administration of victimising Pashtun and Baloch students. However, the PU spokesman said action against the students who were found involved in the incidence of violence on January 22 was taken according to the law, rules and regulations, without any prejudice.

LAHORE:March 10: MIT Enterprise Forum Pakistan in collaboration with Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) of Information Technology University (ITU) the Punjab, opens a three-day event Smart City: The Hackathon, here Friday, which will continue until tomorrow (Sunday). Smart City: The Hackathon is Pakistan’s first-ever, large-scale hackathon organised with the aim to start informed conversations around Smart City initiatives.
