Workshops at Lahore University of Management Sciences

LAHORE:October 25: Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) held a series of workshops and mini-courses in collaboration with the recently established National Agriculture Robotics Lab (NCRA) and the Centre of Water Informatics (WIT). The series of workshops and mini-courses, held in collaboration with LUMS Department of Electrical Engineering, were funded by the German Academic Exchange (DAAD) along with Competitive International Grants won from Global IEEE Control Systems Society Outreach Fund. Over 600 participants joined the events from across Pakistan.

Lahore College for Women University to establish medical college

LAHORE:22 October: Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) has prepared the PC-I for establishing a medical college at its Kala Shah Kaku Campus to facilitate the girls of the adjoining areas, including Gujranwala. “The PC-I is complete and we will be presenting it to the Punjab governor and chief minister so that a teaching hospital could be made next to the medical college”, said LCWU Vice-Chancellor Dr Farkhanda Manzoor while talking to The News.

CJ takes suo motu of PU’s former VC being handcuffed by NAB

LAHORE:16 October:The apex court’s Lahore registry on Saturday heard the suo motu case of Punjab University’s vice chancellor and other officials being handcuffed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). The chief justice took notice of the incident earlier and summoned NAB officials and police officials in the case. NAB chairman Justice (retired) Javed Iqbal has also asked NAB officials for an explanation and said strict action will be taken against those responsible. Easypaisa introduces digital QR payments in universities

Lahore:10 October:Easypaisa, Pakistan’s first digital payments platform launches “Easypaisa QR” the first of its kind cashless payment system – in more than 137 educational institutes across Pakistan. Some of the prominent universities where the Easypaisa QR payments systems have been successfully deployed are Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), National University of Science & Technology (NUST), FAST National University, Karachi University & Punjab Group of Colleges.

Punjab University BA/BSc exams 2019

LAHORE: Punjab University Monday issued schedule for submission of admission forms for BA/BSc part-I & part-II annual examinations 2019. According to a press release, the last date for submission of admission forms for regular candidates of BA/BSc part-II annual examination 2019 with single fee is October 22 (by post) and October 25 (by hand) while forms can be submitted with double fee till November 01 (by post) and November 6 (by hand).

UVAS moot A three-day international conference

LAHOR:October 6: A three-day international conference on “Trans-boundary Diseases of Veterinary and Public Health” under Pak-US Science & Technology project titled “Capacity Building of Neglected Vector Born Diseases in Livestock” funded by Higher Education Commission (HEC) concluded at University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) here on Friday. To organise the event, UVAS had the collaboration of Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute (LVRI) Chinese Academic of Agriculture Sciences Beijing China and Punjab Agriculture Research Board (PARB).

University of Veterinary and LVRI Institute China signed a MoU

LAHOR:October 6: University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) and Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute (LVRI) China on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha and LVRI Director Prof Dr Hong Yin signed the MoU. Under the MoU, the two parties will jointly work for control and prevention of trans-boundary diseases. They will conduct collaborative research for human resource development and faculty & students exchange programme. Both the institutes nominated their focal persons on the occasion.The news.
