FUUAST non-teaching staff to protest against acting management

Lahore:03 August:The non-teaching staff at the Federal Urdu University for Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) announced a protest demonstration on Friday (today) against the varsity’s acting management. As per a press statement issued by the FUUAST Non-Teaching Staffers Association, some officeholders went to the vice chancellor’s (VC) office to discuss problems they were facing, but they were not allowed to meet with the VC.

Punjab government appointed Prof Dr Javed Akram as VC of UHS,

Lahore:July 28:The Punjab government has appointed Prof Dr Javed Akram as vice-chancellor of University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore. According to a press release, Javed Akram, founding vice-chancellor of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences/Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU), Islamabad, and ex-principal of Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore, will be the VC of UHS for a tenure of four years with effect from July 26.

Lahore College for Women University admissions to FA/ FSc 1st Year

LAHORE:July 21: Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) has announced the schedule of admissions to FA/ FSc 1st Year. According to the university spokesperson, the sale and submission of admission forms will be started from July 23 (Monday). The university is offering admissions to different disciplines ie FSc (Pre-Medical), FSc (Pre-Engineering), ICS (three sub-groups Physics, Statistics & Economics), ICom and General Science. LAHORE:July 21: Punjab University Library received books from personal collection of late Prof Dr Aftab Asghar, PU Library Chief Librarian Dr Muhammad Haroon Usmani, noted scholar late Muhammad Aalam Mukhtar e Haq and distinguished professor in Iqbal studies Dr Syed Muhammad Akram Ikram. According to Chief Librarian Dr Muhammad Haroon Usmani, the collections consisted of more than 25,000 very precious, rare and valuable books, manuscripts and journals.

LAHORE:July 21: Boys bagged all three top positions in UET entrance test for admission to engineering programmes in UET and its affiliated colleges across Punjab. City School plans to introduce three new teacher training centres

LAHORE:17 July: City School plans to introduce three new teacher training centres in collaboration with the University of Cambridge Faculty of Education, the top ranked teacher training institution in the UK, and Cambridge International. A Centre for Educational Professional Development (CEPD) is being introduced and launched in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. Each CEPD is to be run by a team of teacher educator who will be trained by the Faculty of Education team. Punjab govet finalised selection process for appointment of regular VC,S

LAHORE:16 July: The caretaker Punjab government has finalised the selection process for the appointment of regular vice chancellors of four more public-sector medical universities. The search committees interviewed the candidates of the medical varsities and shortlisted panels of three senior medics against each university. The health department had constituted new search committees of senior medics on the directions of Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar after he suspended earlier selection of VCs of six medical universities some three months back.
