CJ takes suo motu of PU’s former VC being handcuffed by NAB

LAHORE:16 October:The apex court’s Lahore registry on Saturday heard the suo motu case of Punjab University’s vice chancellor and other officials being handcuffed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). The chief justice took notice of the incident earlier and summoned NAB officials and police officials in the case. NAB chairman Justice (retired) Javed Iqbal has also asked NAB officials for an explanation and said strict action will be taken against those responsible. Easypaisa introduces digital QR payments in universities

Lahore:10 October:Easypaisa, Pakistan’s first digital payments platform launches “Easypaisa QR” the first of its kind cashless payment system – in more than 137 educational institutes across Pakistan. Some of the prominent universities where the Easypaisa QR payments systems have been successfully deployed are Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), National University of Science & Technology (NUST), FAST National University, Karachi University & Punjab Group of Colleges.

Punjab University BA/BSc exams 2019

LAHORE: Punjab University Monday issued schedule for submission of admission forms for BA/BSc part-I & part-II annual examinations 2019. According to a press release, the last date for submission of admission forms for regular candidates of BA/BSc part-II annual examination 2019 with single fee is October 22 (by post) and October 25 (by hand) while forms can be submitted with double fee till November 01 (by post) and November 6 (by hand).

UVAS moot A three-day international conference

LAHOR:October 6: A three-day international conference on “Trans-boundary Diseases of Veterinary and Public Health” under Pak-US Science & Technology project titled “Capacity Building of Neglected Vector Born Diseases in Livestock” funded by Higher Education Commission (HEC) concluded at University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) here on Friday. To organise the event, UVAS had the collaboration of Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute (LVRI) Chinese Academic of Agriculture Sciences Beijing China and Punjab Agriculture Research Board (PARB).

University of Veterinary and LVRI Institute China signed a MoU

LAHOR:October 6: University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) and Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute (LVRI) China on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha and LVRI Director Prof Dr Hong Yin signed the MoU. Under the MoU, the two parties will jointly work for control and prevention of trans-boundary diseases. They will conduct collaborative research for human resource development and faculty & students exchange programme. Both the institutes nominated their focal persons on the occasion.The news.

Medical research centre opens at Punjab University

LAHOR:October 6: Punjab University College of Pharmacy has established Nanotechnology Advanced Biopharmaceuticals and Tissue Engineering Centre. PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad, Faculty of Pharmacy Dean Prof Dr Khalid Hussain, College Principal Prof Dr Nadeem Irfan Bukhari, focal person Assistant Prof Dr Muhammad Zeeshan Danish and other senior faculty members were present at the inaugural ceremony held on Friday.

Lahore College for Women University rewards researchers

Lahore College for Women University rewards researchers LAHORE:October 6: Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) has given away cash awards and commendatory certificates to its 89 faculty members for best research in their relevant disciplines. A function, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Farkhanda Manzoor, was held in this regard in Syndicate Hall. The VC distributed the certificates among best researchers and appreciated their role in promoting research culture. Total 89 faculty members from almost all teaching disciplines were nominated and Rs 2.4 million were awarded to them.

University of Sargodha ,s Students protest against non-issuance of degrees

LAHORE:26 september: Students from the University of Sargodha (UoS) Lahore Campus protested against the fact that the varsity had not issued their transcripts on Tuesday. Hundreds of students, carrying placards, gathered on Canal Road and blocked the thoroughfare for all traffic. The students claimed that they had graduated around three years ago, but had still not received their degrees or official transcripts.

UOE training workshop under Faculty Professional Development Programme

Lahore:19 september:University of Education (UOE) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam was the chief guest of the concluding ceremony. While addressing the participants, the VC said teaching was not just delivery of lecture rather it was a full fledge learning process, which included delivering lecture, assessment and evaluation of students, use of latest technologies in teaching learning process. University of Okara’s approved formation of 10 new academic departs

Lahore:September 19: University of Okara’s syndicate has approved the formation of 10 new academic departments under the existing four faculties along with the recruitment on 123 teaching and 107 non-faculty positions. The decision was taken in the fourth meeting of the syndicate, chaired by Punjab Higher Education Minister Yasir Hamayun Sarfraz. The meeting was held at Punjab Civil Secretariat, Lahore.

The workshop was held in collaboration with Indus Hospital, Karachi, under the varsity project titled ‘In-service Training Facility of Advance Veterinary Education and Professional Development for Veterinary Professionals (IVPD)’.
