Rawalpindi:The annual intermediate examinations under the aegis of the Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (RBISE) will begin today (Saturday). Around 116,675 students will appear in the exams.

RBISE acting chairman Dr. Ashraf said that all arrangements have already been finalised for the annual exams with setting up of 383 centres, 21 of them have been declared sensitive due to various reasons.

Dr. Ashraf said that the computerised system of the board is accurately working while the errors in the record of the students are being noticed due to wrong feeding of data by the students or their educational institutions.

He said that the invigilating staff, who were found indulged in using unfair means in the past, had not been considered for deployment at examination centres. The chairman said a comprehensive policy had also been formulated for depositing of answer sheets on the same day to control any irregularity. Some 63,616 students, including 26,695 boys and 36,921 girls, had submitted their forms this year for the intermediate part-two examination. Roll number slips have been issued to all of them, he said.

He said that 179 centres have been set up for intermediate part two examination and 204 centres for part one examination. Some 53,059 students, including 22,778 boys and 30,281 girls would appear in part one examination.

He said that 121 counters had been established to address problems of the students regarding roll number slips. Dr. Ashraf said that CM’s squad, chairman’s squad, member Board and board officers would conduct surprise raids of different centres. The news
